What's new

Changes that reach the staging apps, the web app and the service, newest first. Small fixes and behind-the-scenes work are left out.

Linux joins the desktop line-up

  • NewType for Linux. An x64 build is now published next to the macOS and Windows apps. Download the archive, extract it and run ./Type.
  • NewmacOS builds are signed and notarized. The app opens like any other download, without the "Apple could not verify" dialog.
  • NewThis page, plus a short Support us note on the landing page.

Pro plans, push notifications and iOS on TestFlight

  • NewUpgrade to Pro from the app. Settings → Change plan opens a secure Stripe Checkout page; your plan updates as soon as the payment completes.
  • NewPush notifications on your phone. Every inbox notification (invites, shared-notebook activity, reminders) is now also delivered as a push, so you no longer need to open the app to notice it.
  • NewiOS via TestFlight. Staging builds of the iPhone app are available to invited testers. The app now explains why it asks for photo library and camera access.
  • FixedSign in with Apple completes correctly instead of stalling after Apple's consent screen.
  • NewA landing page at staging.type-note.app with links to the web app and every download.
